Did you know that bananas are among the seven most wasted foods in supermarkets? This is doubly annoying, as bananas harm the environment due to their long transport routes from Colombia or Costa Rica. If they then end up in the garbage in this country, it is a sin and simply a waste. Delicious delicacies can easily be conjured up by overripe bananas. We have three recipe ideas for you so that your bananas never end up in the trash again.

Delicious banana chocolate smoothie made from old bananas

You need: 200 milliliters of milk (alternatively: almond or oat milk), 2 tablespoons cocoa, 1 overripe banana

Here’s how it works: Peel the banana and add to the mixer with the rest of the ingredients. Mix on high for about two minutes. Have a nice meal!

Bake banana bread from overripe bananas

You need: 2 overripe bananas, 2 eggs, 80 milliliters oil, 130 grams brown sugar, 200 grams flour, 1 packet baking powder, 1 packet vanilla sugar, 1 pinch salt, 1 pinch cinnamon, 1 teaspoon butter

Here’s how it works: Preheat the oven to 175 degrees. Mash the bananas with a fork in a large bowl. Add all the other ingredients (except butter) to the bowl and mix well with a hand mixer. Grease a loaf pan with the butter. Fill the dough. Put it in the oven for 55 minutes. Have a nice meal!

Banana pancakes for a sweet lunch

You need: 2 overripe bananas, 1 egg, 100 milliliters of milk, 4 tablespoons of flour, oil for frying

Here’s how it works: Roughly peel and chop the bananas. Put the bananas in a blender together with the rest of the ingredients and mix until fluffy. Note: The flour must not form lumps. Heat the oil in a pan and fry the banana pancakes in batches until golden brown on both sides. Have a nice meal!
